When Aksarben Village lost the Gordman's headquarters months ago, many were worried about what might become of the development - but its continued to draw in new businesses and new people.

A digital marketing agency moved into the development in April.

"When they are at work we wanted to find a place that provided a lot of the amenities they were looking for," said Heidi Mausbach, CEO of Ervin&Smith. "Our employees really wanted to connect with the community and we felt a central location would help us do that."

The development continues to grow. A new parking garage and apartments for rent have helped bring more people to the area.

A TIF proposal for a building with more units is working its way through the Omaha City Council.

The development has also been able to withstand competition like North Downtown and West Omaha.

"Kiewit is on the third floor so its nice to have some more people in the space," Mausbach said of her building on 67th and Frances. "And with HDR coming in, it will be nice to have even more people in the area."
