Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson has canceled his Tuesday campaign events after staffers were injured in a crash in Iowa.

His campaign says four people were injured in a crash Tuesday after the van they were riding in hit a patch of ice, flipped and was hit by another vehicle. The exact location was not specified.

Three people were taken to a hospital in Atlantic, Iowa, to be checked out, while another was taken to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha.

Carson canceled Tuesday’s campaign events in South Carolina and planned to travel to Omaha to be with the family of the volunteer in the hospital.

That volunteer was later identified as 25-year-old Braden Joplin, a student from Texas Tech who has been campaigning in Iowa for Carson.
