On Tuesday the Omaha city council will approve a resolution to honor Sal Fidone, who died on the job when a car hit him while patching potholes in January.

Police said 48-year-old Fidone was standing in a curb lane blocked by a public works truck when a driver swerved into his lane near 144th and U street and struck Fidone.

National Work Zone Awareness Week starts goes from April 3-7th to bring attention to motorist and worker safety in work zones.

The city council meeting starts at 2pm.
