Omaha had a mild winter this past year, and while most people didn’t mind, Midtown Mowing and Snow Removal didn’t have much to plow.

“Winter was a little rough, it was a little slow, 11 inches of snow, we only went out 3-4 times,” said owner Steve Meyers.

Meyers said they don't bank on their income coming from the winter months, and this spring is already off to a green start.

“We are out here cutting like crazy, grass is growing and is greened up,” he said.

Wednesday was on the cooler side of the spring weather but Meyers said that is a good thing for business.

“The grass loves the cool weather, and it loves the moisture, all the rain we've had, the due is just soaking in through it, it will be fine as soon as the sun comes out.”

He says anyone cutting right now needs to make sure they clean the cut grass off their lawn.

“Blow it off, rake it off, or double cut it, it's not good for it, it can regenerate because it gets crushed in,” added Meyers.
