OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Creighton University president Rev. Daniel Hendrickson announced in a letter Thursday that 66 nonteaching jobs had been cut.

Hendrickson also announced he had frozen top administrators' salaries.

The cuts make up five percent of the non-faculty workforce and half of the positions eliminated were vacant. Hendrickson said employees were given severance packages, paid benefits and support services.

Hendrickson said last monththat cuts were necessary for the university's long-term stability.
