Fourth of July is just around the corner, and Omaha fireworks stands are now open.  But they’re about more than getting the best bang for your buck.

If your organization’s looking to raise money for new uniforms, new equipment or take that special trip, now’s the time to get cracking.

“I’m kinda excited.  It’s pretty fun.  I love just like helping out people, you know, selling fireworks,” said Brandon Renshaw.

He and his family manage an America’s Best Fireworks stand on 108th & Q Streets.

“Been setting up since 10 o’clock yesterday, and just got done like, 12 o’clock today,” said Renshaw.

The stand’s already seen around 200 people come through, and that’s good news for the organizations they support.

“I’m here with the Omaha Outlaws.  It’s a semi-pro football team.  We’re here to help try to make them guys money.  Probably buy new uniforms, maybe equipment, you know, help with the field renovations,” said Renshaw, who is also a player on the team.

The stand is also supporting the Grover Street Little League team.

Dozens of stands in Omaha like America’s Best and Bellino Fireworks operate to help others raise funds.

“The Bellino Fireworks stands are a non-profit organization.  All the profit goes to the organization.  For this one, on 72nd & Dodge, it is the Catholic Charities,” explained co-tent manager Sean Visitacion.

Visitacion has worked for Bellino for 7 years.  He said he loves working for a company that supports great causes.

“I remember working for them when they supported Bryan Athletics, which I went to Bryan High School,” said Visitacion.

And the sales are really smoking.  Renshaw said he’s seen someone spend as much as $1500, and Visitacion has seen a purchase of $2600 worth of fireworks.

It’s all to help the community, while having a lot of fun.
