Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale sent a letter to the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity Monday seeking clarification on a number of issues.

In a release, Gale said he asked three questions: how will the requested voter roll data be used, how will it be kept secure and how will the data be made public or shared.

Like every other state, Gale is still waiting until the legal challenges surrounding the request have been solved before sending any data. He also stated the only information he was considering providing the commission is information that is publicly available.

Gale does not plan to share felony convictions, voter cancelation status, registration in another state or social security numbers.

“In all, I made eight recommendations to the commissions, based on considerations and concerns that I believe are confronted by many, if not all states,” Gale said. “It is my hope that the commission will give those suggestions serious consideration as it moves forward.”
