Omaha City Council will be replacing a seat on the MECA board.

The council announced today that David Jacobson has stepped down from the Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority board to deal with health issues. In April, the council picked Jacobson to replace Willie Theisen.

The MECA board is in charge of providing direction for CenturyLink Center and T-D Ameritrade Park, the city’s largest venues.

The City Council hopes to find a replacement by early next month.
