The Alamo Drafthouseannounced it will be screening a women-only showing of Wonder Woman and it created strong reactions online.

“It is ridiculous, I don't why does it matter,” said Sarah Forester, "It's a movie I don't understand what would be the point?” she asked.

“I don't have a problem with it, I think it is great,” said Dennis Critelia.

The Alamo said in a release, Apologies, gentlemen, but we’re embracing our girl power and saying ‘No Guys Allowed’ for one special night at the Alamo Ritz.”

They also posted on Facebook and got mixed reaction.

Brandon said, “I feel this is offensive and oppressive, and being an educated white male I know what it I’m talking about.”

“Nothing says equality in 2017 like a female only screening. I wonder how you'd react if someone were to suggest a male only screening of a film,” said Lewis.

Carrie added, “Won't someone please think of the men -- who are consistently and terribly underrepresented in the superhero genre and fandom?! Why can't men have special, fun things? why can't they be in charge of stuff? Won’t you think of their feeeeelings?”

“We are well aware of all the men and women that helped to bring this great character to the big screen. As we have mentioned before, this is one screening out of a few dozen regular screenings. We hope you can carve out some time to check one of them out,” the Omaha location said in response to the backlash

The move premiers on June 2nd and the Women-Only screening will be Monday the 5th.
