After being shelled by Nebraska at Haymarket Park earlier this season, the Jays bounced back with a 5-2 win over the Huskers Tuesday. Creighton improves to 15-16 overall this season, while the Huskers fall to 21-14-1.

Senior right-handed pitcher Austin Stroschein earned his first win of the season on the mound after allowing just two runs on five hits through five innings. Matt Waldron earned the loss for the Huskers and falls to 2-4 on the season.

The Jays took a 3-0 lead in the third inning and never looked back, despite a sixth inning rally from the Huskers. Michael Emodi led the way for the Jays offensively as he tallied three hits and an RBI.

No Nebraska player had more than one hit against the Jays, while Ben Miller and Luis Alvarado had the two RBI.

Up next for the Huskers is a three game series on the road against Minnesota. That series begins Friday at 6:30 p.m. Up next for the Jays is a three-game homestand against Villanova starting Friday at 7 p.m. at TD Ameritrade Park.
