After Nebraska's second practice of the bye week, Mike Riley addressed the current state of the Huskers and was asked about his relationship with new NU athletic director, Bill Moos.

When Riley was asked whether he considers the Big Red's final five games of the season an audition for his job at NU, Riley said that was out of his control.

"I can't get in their minds," Riley said. "I want to the Jim Harbaugh deal where I put the sign up above my door that says 'coach the team.'"

"That's all I'm going to worry about and then we'll let the rest take care of itself," said Riley.

Both Riley and Moos hail from the Pacific Northwest, and although Riley has never worked with Moos, the head Huskers is familiar with his new boss.

"I think it's a real good fit for Nebraska," Riley said. "He has done tremendous jobs at two places I have been close to, competed against, Oregon and Washington State."

The Huskers are midway through their bye week and will try to get back to winning way on Saturday, Oct. 28 against Purdue.
