After scoring the game-winning goal in game one of the Stanley Cup Finals for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Omaha native and former UNO Maverick, Jake Guentzel, made history Wednesday night in game two in Pittsburgh.

Posting two goals against the Nashville Predators in game two, the former Maverick star finished the contest with 19 points these playoffs. Guentzel's 19 points set a new NHL postseason record for the most points scored by a U.S.-born rookie ever in a single postseason.

The Omaha native's two goals on Wednesday also brought Guentzel's total to 12 this postseason, which is now good for second-most in NHL history for players in their first postseason.
