UNO basketball losing another player to transfer

UNO basketball head coach Derrin Hansen announced Wednesday that center Zach Pirog will transfer from the program to play closer to home. Hansen released the following statement regarding the transfer:

"Zach Pirog has informed me that he intends to transfer out of our program and that he would like to play closer to home. I appreciate the role Zach has played in our team's success over the last two years. We respect his decision, and we wish him the very best as he continues his playing career elsewhere."

Pirog was the starting center for the Mavs for 20 of the 31 games during the 2016-17 season. Pirog averaged 2.9 ppg and blocked a team-high 28 shots.
