A big congratulations to Omaha's Stacie Tovar, who this past weekend competed in her eighth and final CrossFit Games.
Tovar finished the weekend ranked as the 27th "Fittest Woman on Earth" in 2017, an improvement of one spot from last year's 28th place effort.
Prior to her trip to the games, I had a chance to chat with Tovar about her journey, but also have some fun. We went head to head in a quick sprint workout, consisting of 10-8-6-4-2 repetitions of two exercises: ball slams, and toes to bar.
For the ball slams, she used a 25 pound ball, and I used a 35 pounder. The objective is to pick the ball up from the floor to overhead a slam it down as quickly as possible. Toes to bar is exactly what it sounds like - both of your toes much touch the pull-up bar while you're hanging from it.
