Tim Johnk takes over as the new head football coach at Creighton Prep. Johnk led Omaha Gross for the last eleven years helping the Cougars to the 2012 Class B crown.

Now he hopes that success translates to Class A.

"It's a storied program with a great deal of history," Yohnk said. "You look at the great coaches and players that have been a part of this program and for me to have an opportunity to do this is really a dream come true."

So far, it appears the Junior Jays have bought in to their new coach's philosophy.

"When he first came in, we weren't too sure what to expect but when he first met with us, we liked him off the bat," said senior defensive end Tom Searl.

Prep returns talented tight end Grant Matthies to the mix this season & the senior is also pleased with the new coach.

"I just heard he's been a great guy, great coach," Matthies said. "I've known some people who've been coached by him and he's lived up to the hype."

The Junior Jays face their rival Omaha Westside in the season opener August 25.
