As we transition from summer to fall, it appears the summer heat will stick around a little longer.
Temperatures are expected to be well above average through the weekend, but there are signs that changes are coming our way early next week.
A powerful cold front will be arriving Sunday into Monday, and will not only bring a chance for rain but also a big drop in temperatures.
We will go from the 80s into the 70s, and it’s possible that some areas will only have highs in the 60s next week.
The 6 to 10-day forecast, which covers the first full week of fall, has us way below normal on temperatures, and that trend could carry over into the first couple of days of October. It isn't much of a surprise considering that our overall pattern since November of last year has been more active at the tail end of every month since late last year.
The latest October outlook will be out on Thursday, and I will have more on the upcoming month in the next weather blog. Thanks for reading and for sharing.
