Karine Hafuta

Karine Hafuta joined KMTV 3 News Now in July 2019 as a Reporter/Multi Media Journalist.

Karine always knew she wanted to be a reporter and is excited to be living her dream. She is originally from bright and sunny Los Angeles, but is thrilled to now call Omaha home.

She comes from ABC News where she contributed and produced for Good Morning America and World News Tonight with David Muir. At ABC News, she worked with some of the most respected network correspondents and producers. Karine learned so much at her time working for ABC and is excited for her new on-air career.

Karine graduated with a bachelors in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge (go Matadors!). Her reporting in college made Karine realize she also has a passion for the law and community. She minored in Political Science and was even on her way to law school, but withdrew her admission after hearing news she got a job at ABC News.

Karine is a dog lover, pasta fanatic and loves her afternoon naps. She’s always on the hunt for a good restaurant. She has a lot to learn about the snow and freezing temperatures, so if you have any helpful tips or restaurant recommendations, tweet her @karinehafutatv!
