Since July, drivers coming through the area around 132nd and Giles are greeted with road closing signs, unfinished streets and a detour leaving drivers frustrated.
In October, the project was supposed to be finished by November, but in mid-December, 132nd and Giles is not back open yet.
"Construction on the intersection of 132nd Street and Giles Road has gone past previous estimates for completion. Utility issues and unfavorable weather conditions have caused some of this delay," Sarpy County Public Works said in a statement. "Sarpy County is working diligently with the contractor in their effort to complete this project so we can safely reopen the roads. We will let the public know once the roads have reopened. We appreciate the public's patience at this work continues."
