Summer seemed to come to an abrupt end towards the end of August as rainy and cooler weather settled in. The last time Omaha hit 90 degrees at Eppley Airfield was more than two weeks ago, on August 27.
At this time last week, the rain was already falling, and would continue to fall at times through Monday. Rain totals from August 19 and 20 stacked up to more than half a foot in a number of cities, including Omaha.
Here in Omaha, we have made it through what is typically the hottest part of the year. Our daily average high temperature has slowly fallen to 85 degrees and even cooler weather is in our near future. Early next week, temperatures will fall below average.
