Zoey Muessel has been a Nebraska resident her whole life. An Iowa Western graduate, she joined KMTV in 2018 as a part-time production assistant and then eventually shifted over to the news department as a Real-Time Editor in 2021.
Zoey has a passion for politics, small-town stories, Omaha’s food scene and making sure that voices that aren’t always heard get a platform to share their experiences. She is very close to her family and her Nebraska roots. If you have a story, she’ll want to help you tell it.
A proud transgender woman, Zoey has a loving fiance named Felix. They live with their cats and love nothing more than urban exploring, checking out the local plant stores and everything fun that Omaha has to offer. Zoey also has a passion for collecting VHS tapes and all things filmmaking. She enjoys writing in her free time and is a little bit of a music snob.
She always tries to have a smile on her face, even when things get tough.
