It goes without saying that doctors, nurses, EMTs, grocery store workers and delivery drivers are true heroes in the fight against COVID-19. Whether they’re on the front lines in a hospital or making sure our shelves are stocked with necessities, it’s safe to say we wouldn’t be making it through without them.

While there are many ways to show appreciation for these essential workers (like posting signs of appreciation or even ordering them pizza!), toy manufacturer Mattel has come up with a way to not only show them gratitude, but also donate money and resources to support them.

The company’s new line of #ThankYouHeroes collectibles is memorializing these heroes as action figures, with all net proceeds going to First Responders First, an organization that provides resources to first responders who serve on the front lines and their families.

The #ThankYouHeroes line includes 16 different action figures featuring a selection of doctors, nurses, EMTs and delivery drivers and a special five-character Little People set with a doctor, nurse, EMT, delivery driver and grocery store worker.

“Whether these toys are given as a gift to recognize someone working on the front lines, or used as a tool to help children have conversations about how they are feeling, it is our hope that Fisher-Price toys, and play in general, can ultimately make these difficult times easier for both kids and adults,” Chuck Scothon, senior vice president of Fisher-Price and global head of infant and preschool, Mattel, said in a press release.

The new #ThankYouHeroes line will be available for pre-order through May 31 on Mattel’s website. Each item will retail at $20, with $15 from each sale being donated. Items will ship by Dec. 31, so while they can be preordered now, it may be a while before you receive them.

In a separate effort to fight against COVID-19, Mattel is producing 500,000 face shields for healthcare workers and the company also recently launched the Mattel Playroom, a free online resource for parents and caregivers.

The website offers activities and content for kids from American Girl, Barbie, Fisher-Price, Hot Wheels and Thomas & Friends.

Will you be pre-ordering any #ThankYouHeroes action figures as a way to thank these real-life heroes?
