Hazard man dies in truck-train collision

HAZARD, Neb. (KMTV) — A Hazard, NE man died late Saturday morning in a collision between a pickup and a train, according to Nebraska State Patrol.

At approximately 11 a.m., a Ford F-150 pickup was attempting to cross the railroad tracks east of Sweetwater near the Highway 2 and Imperial Rd intersection in Buffalo County.

The train struck the driver's side of the Ford, which was driven by 88-year-old Alvin Bauer of Hazard.

Bauer was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

Investigation into the crash is ongoing.
