OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, the counties of Boone, Colfax, Platte and Nance will be required to limit gatherings and close some businesses to avoid spreading the coronanvirus or face a "Class III Misdemeanor for each offense."

At that time, the East Central District Health Department (ECDHD) says the regions will be under Directed Health Measures "implemented by Chief Public Health Officer Chuck Sepers."

As is the case in other Nebraska counties, public gatherings will be "limited to ten guests, customers or other invitees" excluding staff.

Establishments offering beer, wine and liquor will be restricted to delivery and carryout orders only. Restaurants will be restricted to delivery, carryout and drive-thru orders.

Lines for pickup and drive-thru are also required to maintain at least six feet of social distancing "whenever possible."

The ECDHD's release also calls on operations to cease at hair salons and other places that offer one-one-one service.

The announcement to enact the Directed Health Measure was made during a joint press conference from area officials.

Four cases have been confirmed in the area but don't appear to be community spread the department says.

The order will last until, at least, May 15, 2020 and may be extended.
