The Nebraska State Patrol officially has a new superintendent.
Col. John A. Bolduc, 52, was sworn in as the 18th Superintendent of the NSP by Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale during a ceremony this morning at the NSP State Headquarters in Lincoln. Bolduc takes over for Maj. Russ Stanczyk, who has served as acting superintendent since June 30.
“I consider it an honor to be sworn-in as colonel,” Bolduc said. “Everyone at NSP has an important mission to do. Public service is teamwork, and I’m honored to be a part of the Nebraska State Patrol.”
Bolduc had previously served as vice president of public safety and police chief at the Port of San Diego, holding the position since since 2010. Before that, he was chief of police for the departments of Brainerd and Mora, Minn.
Bolduc started his career in law enforcement as a police officer in 1986. He holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from National University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Bemidji State University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
