OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Whether you're traveling by car or by air, you may be among the millions of Americans traveling over the holiday season.
Some passengers from the northeast arrived on time at Eppley Airfield ahead of the holiday rush.
"Everything was smooth, Kit Bradley from Baltimore said. "I think we were a little bit earlier than the big mass that's about to hit."
Over two-million travelers are expected to fly before January 6. A woman from Western Iowa says she's taking her time in Omaha, before arriving at Denver, a much busier destination.
"I'm flying to my daughter's to celebrate Christmas with family and meet my new great grandson," Vicki Dixon said. "I waited maybe five to ten minutes and checked my bag and now I have some leisure time to relax."
There's only little time for drivers to relax. More than 100 million are hitting the road. This year, drivers will find a little holiday cheer along the way. Gas prices are down dramatically and could drop even lower in the next few days.
"Now I don't have to spend $40 to fill up the tank," Monica Feairs said. "I'm about to go finish up some Christmas shopping so this will help me save a little money."
Some parts of Omaha are seeing gas prices lower than $2.00.
