RALSTON, Neb. (KMTV) — Story time usually takes place at home, but the Ralston Baright Public Library is now doing a 'Storywalk' with kids.

"She loves reading, she the loves the outdoors, she loves nature so getting to put all that together has been super fun, because it incorporates a little bit of everything she likes," said one mom, Loretta Kvam.

The library takes a picture book, tears apart the pages, laminates them and puts them on yard signs at Wildewood Park.

"I love that this is something we can do as a community, something we can do with the little kids," said Justine Redder, Assistant Director of Baright Public Library. "I miss them so much. I miss weekly story time."

It's the perfect social distancing outing as the pages are 30 paces apart.

"We try to make it first thing in the morning as it is something she really looks forward to," said Kvam. "Sometimes grandma brings her back the in afternoon to do it again; it's super fun."

It's all a way to keep the kids connected to their favorite library employee.

"She really misses going to the library and doing story time with Justine," Kvam said. "Being able to do something very similar to that, we always take a picture, and we send it in so that they can see her."

"I really love when they send in their pictures; I can see their faces," Redder said. "I really enjoy it."

'Storywalk' is every Wednesday. There are plans in the works to make this a permanent display.
