A suspect in a deadly crash that has been missing for weeks did not show up for a hearing in his case Friday.
Eswin Mejia, 19, has been charged with the crash that killed Bellevue University graduate Sarah Root.
In court Friday, the judge raised his bond to $1 million, but later revoked it and set it at no bond, according to Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine.
Mejia was released from jail after paying 10 percent of a previous set bond of $50,000, but a warrant for his arrest was issued after he failed to participate in a court-ordered program.
"They want to see this person brought to justice. So do we, obviously, we charged him. Everybody's looking very hard to find him and bring him back here so he can face these charges," said Kleine.
Root’s father, Scott Root, attended the hearing and called for the judge to resign.
