Douglas county judge Derek Vaughn finds enough evidence to move Robert Brannon to trial Wednesday for robbery, but investigators say he may be behind two other Dunkin’ Donuts robberies.
Brannon, 26, is charged with felony robbery, and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, and possession of a stolen firearm.
He's accused of holding up the Dunkin’ Donuts at 108th & Q Streets on December 27th.
Surveillance shows an armed, masked man enter the store and force employees into the back freezer before stealing cash and taking off.
Investigators say he may be behind two other similar armed robberies.
Two days after the surveillance video aired on TV, two tips identified Brannon as the suspect.
His fiancé, Tracheloe Wilson, says he isn't behind the crimes.
"So how can they prove that that's him you can't point him out if he had a ski mask on his face? And that's what we're going to try to stick with now. I mean we know it wasn't him and I know they're going to try to fight it," Wilson explained. “Me and him both know that he didn't do that so it's going to all come out that's all we know."
Investigators say he may have committed a total of 3 similar Dunkin’ Donuts robberies. One took place at the store at 106th & Fort Streets on January 10th, and the third happened in Lincoln on December 23rd. He has not been charged in the other robberies.
Brannon served 2 years in prison for selling drugs.
He's being held at the Douglas County Jail on $200,000 bond.
