Nebraska State Auditor of Public Accounts Charlie Janssen announced Wednesday morning he will seek re-election in 2018.
In 2014, the 46-year-old Republican was elected to the office after six years serving in the state legislature.
"I believe we have had a strong record providing a critical oversight role for our taxpayers and citizens," Janssen said in a release. "We have worked hard to make sure we are helping to provide efficient, reliable and responsive government. We have a lot more to do and I am asking voters to let me keep working on their behalf."
