Pockets of heavy snow and strong wind gusts are causing reduced visibility and slippery roads. Use extreme caution while traveling.
3:30 PM RADAR UPDATE: Snow continues to push south while breaking apart. Watch for limited visibility on the roads where snow is still falling. Most roads are just wet, but still some slush around too. Take it slow! It only takes one slippery spot to put you in the median! #Omaha pic.twitter.com/AcTGF9XjTS

The heavy, wet snow and strong winds caused power outages across the metro. As of 5:15 p.m. Sunday evening, the number of Omaha Public Power District dropped to about 50,000 customers. The outage peaked earlier with nearly 55,000 people without power.

Outages caused law enforcement and OPPD to issue reminders about navigating through intersections with downed traffic signals. Drivers should treat an intersection with a traffic light outage as a four-way stop.
