A few isolated storms will be possible night in west Iowa. It stays warm (for September) overnight, only cooling off into the upper 60s for Tuesday morning.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and hot with highs near 90 again. By the middle of the afternoon, a few isolated storms will start to pop up again over west Iowa. These rain showers will continue off and on into Tuesday evening, staying mainly east of Omaha. But, more of us will get hit by scattered rain and storms heading into Tuesday night as a cold front and slow-moving area of low pressure begins to move in from the west after midnight.

Showers and storms are likely at times Wednesday, but there will be some dry time mixed in. A few of these storms over eastern Nebraska may have pockets of small hail. The rain and extra clouds will help keep us cooler with highs in the upper 70s.

The slow-moving area of low pressure will continue to bring scattered showers and storms to many of us Thursday. Any of the stronger storms around Omaha could have pockets of small hail. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

There won't be as many showers and storms around Friday. About half of our neighborhoods will see rain to end the workweek with mid 70s and mostly cloudy skies.

Saturday may start out with some spotty rain around the region. About 1/3 of the region will get hit by the leftover scattered rain and storms as this week's slow-moving system begins to exit. There should be some clearing of clouds in the afternoon. Temperatures stay a touch below average, in the mid 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Sunday looks dry with more sunshine and highs near 80, followed by another slight chance at rain on Monday.
