Periods of Rain and Storms Through the Weekend

Posted
and last updated

Storm chances increase by Friday afternoon and evening as a couple of fronts stall over Nebraska and Iowa.

The severe storm threat will be low with only one or two isolated severe storms possible. Small hail and gusty winds will be the main threats from the storms.

Showers are expected to linger into Saturday morning but don't stick around for long. If the system slows down, the showers might continue, but it looks dry for most of the day.

If you have any outdoor activities planned for Saturday, it appears to be the best day this weekend to spend some time outside.

Storm chances pick up again by Sunday afternoon and evening as another cold front moves in from the north. The system that will impact us through the weekend will bring some decent rain to the area. The totals will range between a half inch to more than an inch in some spots.

The rain will exit by Monday allowing much cooler air to settle in with highs in the mid-80s.
