Omaha residents got a chance to hear what Mayor Stothert has in mind for the future of the city.

Folks gathered at the VFW Post 2503 off Military Road.  Stothert talked about the new Douglas County crime lab, how homicide rates have dropped with the addition of more police officers, and how the city is using your tax dollars among other issues.

Attendees told us some of their concerns. "I think we should just go to the dump and work on a methane project rather than try to recycle all of the yard waste" said Nancy Atwood. 'Some cities are doing away with their pension funds and I'm just wondering if Omaha is going to be one of those eventually" said Anthony Hadley, Sr.

There will be seven town halls. The next one takes place this Thursday at the OPD Southwest Precinct at 6 p.m.
