Usually flying out of Eppley Airfield is a breeze.
However, this week is one of the busiest weeks of travel of the entire year, especially considering Eppley is expecting a 3 percent increase in passenger travel from last Thanksgiving.
And although the airport may be calm for parts of the day, there are times when the lines can get very long.
"The morning departures out of Omaha are usually a busy time," Steve McCoy, the Manager of Airline Affairs, said. "That's typically when we recommend people to show up early, but there's also various peak times throughout the day with the arrivals and departures."
Some other recommendations airport officials have are explore parking options before arriving and get to the airport between 90 minutes and two hours prior to when the flight departs.
Eppley Airfield also has an app that you can download called FlyOMA, it has flight information and parking availability.
