In game number two of the weekend series against the top team in the Big Ten, Nebraska fell to Minnesota 5-3 on Saturday afternoon on the road in Minneapolis. The loss evens the weekend set against the Gophers at a game a piece.

Minnesota got on the board first in the bottom of the 1st, but the Huskers came right back in the top of the 2nd, as Luke Roskam hit a solo home run over the wall in right.  But the Gophers answered Roskam's homer with one of their own in the bottom of the 3rd. Jordan Smith blasted a two-run bomb to right that put the Gophers in front 5-2.

Minnesota native Angelo Altavilla got NU a run back in the top of the 4th with an RBI single to center that scored Jake Meyers, but that was all the scoring Nebraska could muster for the rest of the game.

With the loss, Nebraska falls to 22-15-1 overall and 6-4-1 in Big Ten play.  The two teams meet in the rubber match of the weekend series, Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
