OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — In the heart of downtown, you'll find the block on which the 'best restaurant' in Nebraska sits. According to a recent study, Block 16 is the best place to dine at in the Cornhusker State.
With a farm-to-table approach, using local food partners, Block 16 is an American restaurant where freshness meets comfort. It's constantly featuring a new or specialty dish on social media, enticing people to come and line up outside its door before the restaurant even opens.
The owners, Paul and Jessica Urban seek inspiration for their one-of-a-kind dishes through their travel experiences, staff suggestions, and their Canadian, Belgian, and Italian family roots.
"We love food. Jess And I are from fine dining backgrounds so we take a lot of the food that we love to play and try to put it between bread or in a burrito wrap - we just have fun with it," said Paul.
It's a sandwich heavy place with unique flavors and plates. In the past few years, the joint has offered more than 1,400 daily specials with only a few repeats.
The place does have some regular items however; their signature dishes like the Poutine Burrito, the Block Deluxe, Croque Garcon Burger, and of course, their variety of prepared french fries.
Block 16 has up and running for the past 9 years and has been featured on several food networking shows and recognized with multiple awards, including "Best Local Food-Serving Restaurant," "Best Burger in Omaha," and "Best Menu Specials."
At Block 16, you won't just fall in love with their menu, but their prices. Nearly every item is less than $10.
