OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — You may remember celebrating today's national holiday in school. it may have been a fun party to have on a Friday. Or it may have been a party to celebrate an accomplishment. But today you don’t need another reason to celebrate National Pizza Party Day.

Whether you want to order in, carry out or make a pizza yourself. The best way to celebrate is by enjoying whatever kind of slice you like. And local pizzarias are gearing up for big business today.

Since 1953 La Casa has been serving pizza to the Omaha metro. But now through June 6th residents will get to choose La Casa's next menu item. By voting for one of three new pizzas: a three-cheese meatball marinara, bourbon bacon porkacini and the quattrro pork-o.

Another Omaha favorite, Orsi's is celebrating 100 years in business. And today they already have an order for 40 full sheets of pizza for one customer. Like La Casa they have a special pizza that's a customer favorite. “We have a ‘Gouddaroni’ which is like a double crusted pizza that's got a layer of cheese, potatoes, diced potatoes, put some seasonings and you get like hamburger, spinach, broccoli whatever you want on it really,” said Orsi’s pizza maker, Jeffery Miller.

And it takes more than a couple days to prep for all their orders. “Well ususally we gotta plan several days in advance ya know for the toppings, cheese crust, crust we make every day, that all depends on how many pizzas we make the day or two days before, cheese is the same way, hamburger hundreds of pounds per week, and a lot of vegetables,” said Miller.
