MILLS COUNTY, Iowa. (KMTV) — More Mills County residents can go home after a partial release of the mandatory evacuation order was issued Tuesday.
Allowed re-entry includes the following unincorporated areas for properties along the following roads:
- 221st Street transitioning to Lambert Avenue from 195th Street West to the Missouri River
- 194th Street North of Lambert Avenue and West of Interstate 29 (limited to residents only)
- 195th Street from Lambert Avenue South to Paddock Avenue
Re-entry Routes:
- 221st Street South transitioning to Lambert Ave
Floodwater has decreased substantially in the above areas and road conditions have improved enough to allow re-entry into homes and businesses.
Residents and owners in the above area can return to their property during daylight hours.
The Plattsmouth Toll Bridge has also been reopened according to a tweet from the Iowa Department of Transporatation:
The Plattsmouth Police Department is reporting that the toll bridge over the Missouri River on Mills County Road L-35/Lambert Ave. is now open after being closed due to flooding. For current road conditions, visit: https://t.co/2XHJbG5B9b
