MILLS COUNTY, Iowa. (KMTV) — A Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) opened Tuesday in Glenwood at the GRC Flood Relief Site.

The center, staffed by trained AmeriCorps Volunteers, provides a central location for flood-impacted individuals to get clean-up assistance for their homes.

Staff will be able to access the Crisis Clean-up Hotline to determine statuses of those who have registered there, sign up those needing clean-up assistance and make onside assessment visits to properties. Staff will also work with Volunteer Clean-up Organizations like Team Rubicon, Illinois Southern Baptist and more to make sure direct connections are being made with those needing services.

The Center will be open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Homeowners are asked to call in at 515-444-2444 to clarify their status in crisis clean-up or to set up cleaning assistance for their property.

Volunteers who would like to help are asked to call the Volunteer Intake/Coordinator at 515-444-2390.
