OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Influenza cases continue to decrease in Douglas County, with 7 lab-confirmed cases last week compared to ten the week before.
Influenza A has been the predominant strain circulating this season. Hospital visits due to the flu remain low, along with the number of children absent from school due to the illness.
A total of 3,869 lab-confirmed cases of influenza have been reported since September 30, 2018.
One pediatric death has been reported in the area due to influenza, along with seventeen adult (over 50-years-old) deaths.
