LA VISTA, Neb. (KMTV) — Our partners at the Omaha-World Herald say La Vista City Council passed a 1.5% restaurant tax on Tuesday in a 7-1 vote.
The Council voted to waive a third and final reading that would have happened two weeks from now.
The Omaha World-Herald says there was no public input tonight and none of the council members spoke about the tax.
Since its introduction two weeks ago, La Vista added an amendment that allows businesses to withhold 2% of the tax to cover administrative expenses.

Since the tax's introduction 2 weeks ago, the city added an amendment that allows businesses to withhold 2% of the tax to cover administrative costs and expenses (restaurant industry folks wanted this bc of credit/debit card transaction fees).
