LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Additional counselors are being trained to help Nebraskans who are still recovering from flooding this spring.
Denise Bulling with the University of Nebraska’s Public Policy Center is leading the effort to help ensure that more counselors are available to help Nebraskans deal with the emotions that often come with recovering from a disaster.
Bulling says these counselors talk with survivors, listen to their stories and help them solve problems and find resources.
While the counselors are deployed across the state, they can be reached through Nebraska’s Rural Response hotline, (800) 464-0258.
