One man has died after being run over by a vehicle early Wednesday morning.
Omaha police say they received a call from a witness who was driving near 42nd St. and Crownpoint when he saw an adult male lying in the roadway. The witness told police that after he had pulled over and was in the process of calling 911, he saw a 2011 Chevy Malibu drive over the man.
Edward Johnson,31, was taken to Nebraska Medicine Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The Chevy stopped just north of the scene according to police. The vehicle was being driven by 24-year-old Tyrone Clayton Jr. He was given a citation for driving during a suspension and without proof of insurance.
