HUMPHREY, Neb. (KMTV) — Several people were injured this morning in a crash at the intersection of Hwy 81 and Hwy 91 in Humphrey.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the crash happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. when a Ford Transit van was traveling northbound on Hwy 81.

The van approached the intersection as a semi traveling westbound on Hwy 91 pulled out in front of the van. The van hit the driver's side of the semi just behind the drivers side door.

Moments following the crash, a trooper came across the scene before it was reported and began immediately assisting those who were injured, including eight children.

Thirty-five year old Amy Jackson of Columbus was the driver of the van. Her eight children were occupants of the vehicle, ranging in age from two to 15. They were all wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

An 8-year-old was transported by helicopter to Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha with non-life threatening injuries.

Jackson and the other seven children were taken with non-life threatening injuries to Columbus Community Hospital.

The semi driver, 65-year-old Duane Seamann, was hauling rock and not inured in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
