PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. (KMTV) — With many in need of food this time of year, veteran organizations across the area hosted their Stuff the Truck event Saturday.
Trucks were at Hy-Vee and No Frills in Plattsmouth, collecting food donations for local food banks.
Food banks are especially helpful during back to school time as money for food may instead go to school-related items--so getting donations is important.
"If we’re not serving in the military then we're going to serve our community, and this is how we give to our community and that's how our community gives back to us,” said Mike Pauly. “So there's a great amount of fulfillment when we do this.”
The event also took cash donations which go back to the food banks.
