7 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Sarpy/Cass

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Seven new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Sarpy and Cass County over the weekend, bringing the total number of cases in the Sarpy/Cass Health Department’s jurisdiction to 57.

To date, there have been 53 cases in Sarpy County and four in Cass County: 19 travel-related, 19 community acquired, 15 close contact, and 4 under investigation.

The Sarpy/Cass Health Department is urging residents to take action today to limit the impact of COVID-19 in our communities by following these simple recommendations. Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected.

Stay Home : Stay home whenever possible. • Avoid gathering in any groups (if a group is necessary, limit it to no more than 10 people, and remember the 6 feet social distancing recommendation). • Do not visit or host people who do not live with you. This includes family. • Work from home if you can.

Stay Healthy : Keep at least 6 feet distance from anyone you don’t live with. • Stay home if you are sick or if someone in your home is sick. • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. • Clean and disinfect frequently touch surfaces. • If you are an employer, make plans so that your employees can stay home when they need to. • Cover your nose and mouth with a cloth mask while in public settings where social distancing is difficult. • Shop no more than once each week, alone, and be efficient. Stay Connected : Stay in touch with friends and loved ones by using your phone, tablet, computer, letters, or cards. • Check on neighbors and other people who may be alone or need help.
