One additional staff member and three male youth have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center (YRTC) in Kearney, according to the Nebraska Dept. of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

DHHS received results on Wednesday after all youth and staff were tested, yielding a total of 282 tests.

The initial COVID-19 case at the facility was discovered in a staff member who didn't return to work after becoming symptomatic.

A second staff member was identified with COVID-19, which led to more widespread testing at YRTC.

The additional staff member who tested positive is at home self-isolating and is doing well, according to DHHS.

The three male youth who tested positive are asymptomatic and are self-isolating in individual rooms.

Necessary areas of the facility have been sanitized and all staff and youth continue to be monitored for symptoms daily.

Staff identified as positive for COVID-19 won't be allowed to work until they have quarantined appropriately and are asymptomatic for at least 72 hours.
