OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — This weekend is the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders weekend, but the coronavirus response is forcing major changes to one of Omaha's biggest yearly events.

Normally Borsheims looks pretty busy around this time of the year, but with social distancing rules still in place, the sales floor is closed.

Instead, it's inviting shareholders to shop virtually.

Sales staff sent emails and postcards, and they are also making phone calls to help.

The impact will be very obvious downtown.

Last year a record 40,000 people attended the shareholders weekend.

This year, only CEO Warren Buffett and Vice Chairman Greg able will appear via livestream to answer questions.
