NEBRASKA

DOUGLAS COUNTY

  • 121 new cases of COVID-19. That brings the total number of cases in Douglas County to 10,008 since the March beginning of the outbreak.
  • The Health Department received three new death certificates related to COVID-19 during the past day. Our community has lost a man in his 20s and two women more than 85 years old. The total number of lives lost that are linked to the pandemic has increased to 127.
  • The department has confirmed 6,560 recoveries among county residents who contracted the illness.
  • As of this morning, metro area hospitals had 235 medical and surgical beds available for an 83 percent occupancy rate. There were 96 patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
  • The Douglas County Health Department, in cooperation with clinic partners from UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, and OneWorld Community Health Centers, continue to operate the drive-thru clinic at 50th and G Streets. Testing this week will be provided through Thursday from 1-5 p.m.

THREE RIVERS PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) reports total lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases within the district as follows:

  • Dodge County: 753 cases
  • Saunders County: 120 cases
  • Washington County: 95 cases
  • Total 3RPHD Case Count: 968 cases

“Since Monday we have seen an increase in the number of cases across all of the counties that we serve—7 in Saunders County, 6 in Washington County and 6 in Dodge County,” said Terra Uhing, Three Rivers Public Health Department, Executive Director. “We all have to do our part to help keep others healthy –stay home if you are sick, wash your hands and wear a mask when you are not able to physical distance”.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Omaha Metropolitan Health Care Coalition (OMHCC) which consists of Dodge, Saunders, Washington, Douglas and Sarpy County hospitals reported 235 medical beds available and 96 patients were hospitalized with COVID-19. Of the 429 ventilators available to area hospitals, 119 were in use, including 7 for confirmed COVID-19 patients.
