GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KMTV) — The Central District Health Department (CDHD) announced COVID-19 testing in Grand Island Thursday will be available without an appointment.
In the last 2 weeks, the Grand Island area has seen the second-most new COVID-19 cases in the U.S. relative to its population, according to a New York Times analysis.
Testing will be on a first come, first serve basis from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Fieldhouse at Fonner Park in Grand Island on Thursday.
Those who have been previously tested with positive results are not eligible for testing, according to the health department.
Individuals will be tested inside vehicles and should wear a mask and have proper identification.
On Wednesday, CDHD announced there are 972 COVID-19 cases in Hall County, where Grand Island is located.
The county has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Nebraska.
